Two Mission Grants Awarded at the Mid-Atlantic CBF Annual Meeting

At the MACBF annual meeting, the mission team of the Mid-Atlantic Cooperative Baptist Fellowship awarded two grant requests from the Bill George and Patricia Bolinger Mission Fund, a fund designed to support new mission endeavors of CBF churches within the Mid-Atlantic region.

Parkwood Baptist Church of Annandale, Virginia, received a $1,000 award to support the Practicing Belonging in Community mission project which assists foster and adoptive families, children who age out of the system, and the social workers who support them. The award will fund transportation for families, food assistance, gas for job interviews, trauma training, and food pantry supplies.

Village Baptist Church of Bowie, Maryland, also received a $1,000 award to help address food insecurity through the development of a garden on their church property which will help low income families secure healthy, affordable food through a sustainable source of fresh produce. The funds will assist in the development of an irrigation system and provide other building materials and supplies needed for the garden’s development.

Grant awards are considered for churches in full cooperation with the MACBF and for projects that have additional financial investment from the congregation. The mission focus is on sharing the Gospel in a new way.
